What in your opinion is the best way to go. I like AR-15 in a 223 or a 6.5
if i need to really reach out their.

I have pretty much always been a bolt fan, but here lately I have switched over to the AR15 platform as have the major majority of all my fellow predator hunters. I have a 6mm WOA being built right now which will be my number one go to rifle for all my predator hunting in the future.

Go with a 243 WSSM. About like a 6mm Rem or a 240 Whby in performance. Fits right on your AR15 lower.

When coyote hunting I usually have 2 rifles with me. When hunting with dogs or when expecting closer shots at running couotes I carry my AR. It`s a Rock River flat top with a 3 x 9 Leupold on it. When sitting and snipeing I carry my Savage. It`s a .22-6mm and wears an 8 1/5 x 25 Leupold scope on it. I have fired 1 - 3 shot group with it at 600 yrds. was just over 2 in. When calling I usually call with a friend and one of us will carry a semi-auto .223 for up close and personal and the other a reach out and touch them gun.

+1 with the .243 WSSM. You could also go with a .25 WSSM. If you handload, you could even try necking the .25 up to 6.5. That would be a good one too.

Dtech makes good uppers. Check them out.

My buddy had this AR built with 1:8 twist 6mm kreiger barrel. It's chambered in "6mm AR" wich is a very nice long range cartridge (it's basically a 6.5 Grendel necked down to 6mm.

I use the Stoner SR 25 and mine will shoot .5 with just regular ball ammo or with the 168 FGM. Don't shoot it that much so I don't reload for it but the 2 that I have I will be keeping. Nothing is better for short to mid range hog killing!

I used a 6 WOA AR-15 this past winter for predator hunting. Shot 29 coyotes with it and had to shoot 1 twice. The load used was a 65 grain V-Max with Benchmark powder yeilding 3425 fps in a 22 inch barrel. I also have a 243 WSSM, but the pinpoint accuracy is not there with it as it is with the 6 WOA.

I have a bushmaster lower and upper with a 24 inch 1:8 twist and a wilson match bull barrel. Nightforce optics with a larue mount. Been killing coyotes at 500 yards lately and this thing shoots like a dream now after some modifications

I also have an AR i use for coyotes. The upper is a 223AI with a 26" 9-twist Hart. I'm shooting the 65 JLK Low Drag (BC-.4) @ 3050, and i have the old DPMS VLD magazine that allows for .25" more cartridge OAL, making it perfect for this bullet. I have the Rapid Reticle 3-9X 22 Long Rifle scope on top, and once recald. to the trjectory of my load it's the best 1st focal plane optic i've ever used on an AR for short to intermediate range hunting. This combination is good to right around 500 yds. or so on coyotes.
