I have one on a 300 wsm with 24" barrel. It is tuned so I don't get muzzle rise but it does not reduce the recoil enough to stay on the target. I can't detect any increase in noise at the shooters ear but do not have equipment to actually check it. A friend was shooting my gun to develope a load for me and he was also shooting a 300 RUM with a Gentry brake on it. He said the recoil on the rifle with the bigger RUM bullet and case was less than my 300 wsm with the bp brake. I will not but another one because the recoil reduction is not enough.
