Funny thing about the 178 AMAX is it will vary in a LARGE way depending on what twist youre using and how fast you drive em.
Published is .495 or .496. I assume the factory is using G1?? My experiances have been drastically differant. Out of my 11.25 twist 308 at 2550 FPS I was getting .318 G5. Out of my 12 twist 300 RUM, I am getting .495 G7 which is amazingly flat. Close to 1.011 G1. That is unbelievable.
I havent fired the 180 AB past 300 yards, but have fired the 200 AB out to 600 yards and its BC worked out to right at .588-.590 which is what they are published at. I would suspect that the 180 AB is going to be very close to .507.
PS, There are several others here that have had similar results with the AMAX's with a variety of calibers and weights.
