Any GOOD trigger will some times act up when they are not taken care of. There is something to be said for simple ,but simple triggers like the old savage or the Winchester even tho they are very dependable they were not very adjustable. The reason I didn't list some of the other Triggers like the Shillen was they are essentally reworked remingtions and you might as well stick with the factory Remingtion trigger if it can be adjusted properly. Like johnnyK I to have adjusted a lot of remingtion triggers and most can be made to perform very well but there have been a few that would not work consistantly the same. so an aftermarket trigger was used. Also after reading my original post It may have sounded like the rifle basic was no good. this was not what I was trying to say but just that some after market triggers were not that much better than the factory one ( they all should be better but how much bang for your buck you would be getting). As to the sensitivity of the Jewell . The only thing I find sensitive is the adjustments. ( A 1/2 turn on most trigger weight adjustments will change the weight by about 1/4 of a pound, 1/8th of a turn on a jewell will do about the same. I can't find anything that I do not like about the Jewell (Even the price considering the precision workmanship, materals and design features). this is truely a case of "you get what you pay for" For many years I would'nt use the Jewell because of the price Difference but now there is not that big of a differance and once I tried one I was hooked. I still use other triggers based on need and use but when I want the best you can guess what I use. J E CUSTOM
