So I ordered an A5 for a long action and I was going to just make the gun a single shot but I am kind of changing my mind now. My question is can I put a sleeve in there for the magazine and mill it out or will this be too much work for a gunsmith to do? Also will it affect the strength of the stock more than one that was built by McMillian with the intent of putting a mag in the stock?

McMillan A5

I don't know what you mean by "sleeve" in the stock for a magazine but, if you have not already received the stock, you could call McMillan and change your order. I have done this many times.

Call and change your order, I am sure they haven't even stared on your order yet. It took 25 weeks for McMillan to complete my Tooley MBR stock, I am sure it will take longer for the A-5.
