WOW! The Generals, unencumbered by the politicians could have blown Vietnam off of the map! Nixon brought the North back to the table with Rolling Thunder, and the loss was by the Press and the American People. IMO, America needs to declare to the World that we will step up when others won't....BUT, it will be will be a WWII style warfare. If a sniper is in a building, even a Mosque or a Church, that building will be destroyed. If there is serious conflict on an entire block then that too will be destroyed, and yes if it is citywide then as a last resort the city will be removed from the face of the Earth. Our soldiers are much too precious for the way they are treated. I am disgusted by the American people. They let the Press and the Politicians do then such harm! Admiral Zumwalt was asked if he would use of Agent Orange after all we knew, his own son was dying of cancer from Agent Orange from his service in Vietnam, and his response was YES. Zumwalt said that before defoliation, there were firefights at 10 yards which are not survivable, but afterward these fights were at 100 yards which meant that the death toll was much much lower. His son succumbed to the cancer, but he never waivered. We CAN win, but the politics get in the way too often! edge.
