300saum, I had to make a decision as of Jan 1, 2009. At that time I was running around 28 months behind on orders and in all honesty was ****ing off more customers then I was making happy with the extremely long waits. What caused this, well many things but mainly a huge increase in orders in a one year period and a couple componant manufacturers really putting me in a hard spot finanically as well as not getting me componants. During the spring of 2008, I spent a solid three months doing nothing at all but accurizing Rem 700 receivers that were in shop to get built on. This also added to the increase in delays. Having alot of orders on the books is a very good thing, making your customers wait over 18 months, in my opinion is very bad business and as such, I had to make a very hard decision. A large part of my business was building on Rem 700 and other factory receivers but I simply could not survive taking the time needed to rebuild all these receivers if I ever wanted to dig out from the hole I was in and get caught up, so, I made the decision, as of Jan 1, 2009 to stop accepting projects based on factory receivers. Since then, I have dropped over 10 months from my current order times but I am still working hard on a couple batch of rifles that are far over due. This was also a reason for me again pushing toward the Raptor receiver project. To streamline the build process and cut my shipping times even more. My end goal, 10 months from time of order which I believe is practical but I still have at least a year out before I will be able to get to that point with my current incoming orders. This is a main reason I have never set up a web page, I seriously need to cut my shipping times down and getting piled on with orders would not make that possible. In this day and age it may not be wise to pass on work but I have always felt customer service was most important, just as important as quality of the product and I simply could not do that and feel right about +2 year waits for my rifles. I think that was long winded enough!!!:D
