Brown Coastal Bear at 9'. Spot and stalk hunt. 327 yard quartering away shot. Hit rib on entrance and exit. Bullet recovered in fatty hide. Bear dropped in 3 seconds.

Was the bullet going so slow that it didn't open?
I wondered that when I saw the picture, and ran the calculations.

With a 2700 fps MV, and sea level inputs, terminal velocity should be just under 2200 fps.

If I got it right.

Pretty substantial hole though?
 
Based off the size of the whole and the lack of expansion of the bullet...did it tumble?
