I read over on another board a complaint about Remington 8 Mag brass being soft.

I have used and loaded for a couple 8's and don't remember having problems with it...is the newer brass softer maybe?

I am building a 6.5mmSTW and one of the reasons I went with it is that I still have a few hundred rounds of 8 Mag brass plus a couple hundred pieces of7mmSTW brass.

TIA

Story was that he was fireforming to 300 Jarrett, then two "mild loads" and the primer pockets were opening up.

I'm thinking his "mild" loads weren't so mild.

I have no idea about how he was reloading but I know I haven't found Remington 8mm Mag brass all that problematical. But I check and double check load recommendations, use a chrono and still toss brass around the fifth of sixth loading.

I was just wondering if anyone else had seen a problem with it.
