@ loaders,.. Sorry bud, I thought I read that, you modified your Rifle with a NEW follower, to feed. There were many complaints, several years ago about, staggered Box magazines not feeding the WSM cartridge's very well, in model 70's and others like it. I'm not gonna argue with you, but that was a fact back when, the WSM's were first created by Win. Only the Tikka's with single stack Mag's fed OK, until mod's were made on the feed ramp's, guide rails, followers, etc. of Winchester Model 70's and many went back to the Factory under warranty. You also stated you obtained short barrel life, I was just agreeing with you, on both of your statements. Sorry about the punctuation, I'll try to do better but, the OP wanted to know, the reasons why, the 7 WSM is becoming, obsolete and slowly, dying out. Doesn't mean they won't shoot, tho. By average hunter's I meant to say, the guys that buy a box or, two of ammo, sight in and go hunt. They are what drives Rifle and ammo sales for the Gun companies and make or break them. I gave you a "like" on what you wrote about your troubles with the gun and how you solved the issues, thinking that, you have a good Rifle, now. Good luck with it !
