While in Africa this spring one of the locals had a long range rifle he was calling a 7mm Tembo. I have heard of the 400 Tembo but never the 7mm version. He claimed to be pushing a 168gr Sierra matchking at 3200fps from a 28" barrel. I didn't get to handle the cartridge myself but it appeared to be considerably shorter than the 7mm STW round I was shooting.

Anyone know anything about this round? Parent cartridge?

    Thanks guys

I recall that he mentioned it was a 8x68s case.

Should of known you would remember the details. That makes sense though slightly misleading on the name. Now I just need to work on finding the cartridge dimensions. Might just have to send old PC an email, heck maybe talk about another shoot!

    Thanks bud,
