Berger say's starting at 80 with 85.8 as a max.

I had good success with Retumbo & the 180's. US-869 will gain you more velocity but then there is the ball powder issue. You could try it but I wouldn't beat myself up tracking some down.

I've seen that the US869 can really get those bullets moving. I'm not to concerned about getting the max velocity, just something accurate and easy on the cases.
I shoot H1000 in my 338/300 RUM and will probably start with it.
7mm 180gr Bergers at 3000fps+ will be a hell of a combo!!

They will liquefy anything they hit. I used to shoot H1000 with the 160's but I'm sure I didn't try it with the 180's.
Mine loves US869 with the 180 bergers. 99.5 grs. gets me just above the 3350fps mark out of a 30" barrel. I pushed it to 101 gr. @ 3417 fps with accuracy still sub .5, but the load had alittle too much pressure for my likings.

Earl, I couldn't keep my ES down with US869. Are you using 215 primers?
