anyone shooting this cartridge and 168 or 180 Bergers? I/m getting excellent accuracy with the 180,but the velocity is 2800fps,I/ve got a 28" barrel, seems there's not much data on this round. My load is 57 grs. H4831sc. Thank's

I just finished mine, put the DE brake on yesterday. I have fired a total of 5 rounds for barrel break-in and not at a target so I am not much help yet.
I am planning to shoot the 162 A-Max but did pick up some 180 Bergers to compare. I am going to try H-4831sc with the 162s but think H-1000 may be better with the 180s.
I plan to do some development soon but it's hard to get excited about it when it's 17 degrees outside:D.
I have been hearing from others that they are getting 3000fps with the 180s but that is with a 30" barrel, mine ended up at 27 1/2".
I'll update if I get any data.
James

Your probably right,I think 4831 peaks too quickly with the 180,I/ve tried RL-25,but accuracy wasn't there.Maybe I/ll try the H1000,if it works out I/ll let you know. The 168 Berger states b. c. of .648 the 180 .684.Maybe best to get someone with Quickload program to run the numbers and find out.Thank's,Archie

Retumbo

Hi try Retumbo I use it in my Model7 it has a 22" brl and it gives the best velocity and extreem spreds with 160gr+ projectiles .

H1000 is a close seccond I am building a 7mm saum for F Class shooting to 1200yards and it will have a 3" Lawton 8 twist cut barrel and it will be using Retumbo and 175gr Sierra's and 200gr Wildcats.
