You guys got any starting loads for 75 grain A-max in a 223? How about a 220 swift?

I have just started to load for my 1/9 twist barrel .223, my first 75gr Amax loads were 23.6 H4895,lapua brass, fed 205 primer, these shot sub half inch @100yds.

24.5gr to 25gr of varget seems to be the sweet spot for a savage .223 1:9 twist barrel.
i use win brass, fed 205m primer, and .025 off lands

    shawn68,

unless your Swift is re-barreled, it won't shoot the 75 amx. need 1 in 8 or 9 twist to stabilize it.

same as joe said 24.0 grains of varget and 7.5 rem primer in factory savage barrel killed many chucks out to 700 yards with this combo
