jb, its a local 1000m fun shoot class. Something a local club dreamed up so that hunting rifles could play. We get lots of Savage and Rem HB and sporter rifles shooting in this class. The class limits rifles to 10lbs with a 10X scope.
Last shoot, someone with a box stock Savage won a relay. Came close a couple more times too. Got lots thinking about something low budget.
Wouldn't surprise me to see a bunch of $300 Stevens 200 on the line this year. We might just start a class for the lowest cost rig. I think somewhere around $400 would do it.
I "needed" a new LR rifle and something to test my new cartridge (7 Mystic). Figured why not build it to 10lbs and have dual use. Besides, getting too lazy to haul my 20lbs cannons in the bush anymore.
