I have heard a couple of arguments regarding this, but do not know the answer. But I do know that performance usually comes with a price. Both have relatively long necks but the .260 has a tad more performance so I would say the 6.5x47 has a slight longevity advantage. I would guess that the 6.5x47 lapua will go a miminmum of 3k rounds the way I load it. I would bet that most will get more than I will get. 123s at velocities too fast to post lest the pressure police come in the dead of the night have a way of eroding a barrel:) I think when you figure in time prepping .260 brass that the 6.5x47 looks even better. I have 12 loadings on my 6.5x47 brass and it still feels new when I seat the primers and bullets. For some reason the necks stay more consistant with the 6.5 version of the lapua case. In the 6mm version neck tension starts going downhill around 8 loadings and I do not anneal.
