SOLD/EXPIRED 6.5 STEEL JACKET BULLETS

Dave,
Are you talking about the old Norma 512 and 513 bullets? I forget which one was which now but one had a silver colored jacket and the other a copper colored jacket but a magnet would stick to one or both of them. I may still have some of them laying around somewhere (not a large quanity though), and I might know of one other source also. He might have a couple hundred.

We use to cut the noses of these bullets in a lathe and they would open up very well on long range deer.

Steve,
Beware of cutting any full jacket bullet nose, which is opened on the tail.
Usually you will not have problems... until one of those jackets remains in the barrel and the lead inside comes out.
The next shot will ruin your rifle (and your face) if you don't notice before.
Shoot well and be safe.
