6.5-06 vs 260 Rem; Which would YOU go for and why?

I have a 6.5-06AI w/ 26" barrel, running the 140's at 3050fps.
Very good caliber, and accurate as usual for an R BROS rifle.
I don't see the need to go to an STW in 6.5. More case capacity than needed.
If I had a std bolt face action, the 6.5-06 AI would be the way to go. Or in a 7mm, go 280AI.

I never have understood the 6.5-06ai, I'd like to though. I still have case capacity left in my standard version when 140's are loaded to 3000fps. Is it just the extra case capacity of the AI version that brings down pressure or is it simply run at higher pressure?
Thanks

The best assets of the AI chamberings are often overlooked by many that are solely looking for increased velocity. But increased case life and barrel life are 2 of the main benefits that many diehard shooters really appreciate.

Agreed.
