On the first shot I thought Garth had hit him but after a review of the tape he just knicked the side of the small sapling just behind the deers shoulder. I expected the buck to come out a little lower in the screen but you won't have any trouble seeing him fall at the shot. [QUOTE="Kevin Cram, post: 252109, member: 2215"] Here is a good friend and hunting partner Garth Lapp shooting his custom .300 Win Mag. This buck was picked up following a doe around the point on the 2nd day of the 2008 PA deer season. I edited out about 10 minutes of him rubbing a tree before the shot. On the first shot I thought Garth had hit him but after a review of the tape he just knicked the side of the small sapling just behind the deers shoulder. After that the buck stood behind some thick stuff for a half an hour and kept shaking his head before finally sneaking his way into an opening. I expected the buck to come out a little lower in the screen but you won't have any trouble seeing him fall at the shot. After Garth got over to the deer that day he said the deer had been shot in the ear. The bullet that knicked the side of the tree glanced over and pireced a perfect hole in the deers right ear. From this location we have the oportunity to shoot fromm 500 yards out to over 2000 yards in a 180 degree span. It's a great spot simply because it's about 2 miles from the closest road, and not too many hunters are willing to walk that far anymore.
