5.5-22 NXS for all around hunting scope?

About to pull the trigger on either a 5.5-22 or 3.5-15 NXS. I'd probably go 22x if I knew how the field of view would be on closer shots if they're presented. I practice out to 1200yds on steel so I know I would prefer the 22x for the longer shots. I guess my question for the guys that hunt with the 22x is do you feel handicapped when that big buck jumps his bed at 20yds and you have to make a quick/close shot?

I just picked up a 3.5-15x50 NXS myself and very happy with it.

Just bought the 22 with the Moar T reticle, will probably pick up a 15 when they come out with the Moar T also

So.. is the 15x good enough to 1200 yds?

I've only had it out to 1000 but can always dial down so I went larger. I also have a 260 being built by GAP I'll probably throw this on
