So, I stupidly ( is that realy a word) involved The Admiral ( my wife ) in a gun and shooting conversation yesterday. She came into the shop where I was cleaning the rifles from a nice morning at the range. She asked " how much does it cost to shoot this?" again, stupidly, I thought this an innocent question, so i said " well, since I reload, it's just a fraction of what it costs to shoot with factory loaded ammo!" She was examining this Sako I have, and I had the catalog printed from accuflite, I have been considering sending it to JB for a makeover. She says " is this the one you are going to send out?" "Yes Dear". Her accounting mind clicks into gear. " Wow, it seems odd that you and your buddies think $4 a shot is inexpensive" Of course I took issue with this so, she says " well, this box of bullets ( thats what she calls any component or loaded round) is $40 (fed premium 7mm Rem Mag that I had sitting there with the price tag on it. ) so thats $2 a shot" Yes Dear. "and you said you were sending in the rifle because the barrel is shot out at 1300 bullets" UHOH, "Yes Dear" So, if your new gun is $4000 with that telescope thingy on it like you said, thats $3.08 every time you shoot the bullet, plus the bullet!" I quickly said " But honey, I reload, remember!" ( I was very pleased with myself. She said " OK, let's just call it $4". . . . .. screen door slamming. There was some type of lesson hear I am sure lightbulb
