[QUOTE="Lightvarmint, post: 215664"] Actually, he was time limited and since there were so few .22 rimfire custom actions being manufactured and so many of the larger actions as the express in production, he decided to drop the express and spend that time on the 22RF. If the 22RF reaches a saturation point, he may be connived into building some more G's. I use 105.0 (-0.00 grains, +.02 grains) grains of Retumbo with the 220 @ .060 off the lands. The aluminum tipped bullets seem to be more bearing length limiting than bullet weight limiting. Anyway, run the numbers (just for fun) on say a 220 with a .927 BC at 3274.9. They will surpass the energy of the 280 (BC of .878 at 3100 fps) shot out of the same gun using the same size 378 case at 1700 yards. On the windage and the drop, it is like beating up a ten year old. I don't see any new .338 barrels in the future for me (unless I go ahead with the four bolt BAT project), but I do see several 8" twist .30 cals. If you saw how accurate the 220s were out of the 30/378 case, you would be sold. The accuracy nodes for my barrel are easy to locate and they are very wide......... Very easy to load for. We had some scope issues in the last two weeks and that has delayed the final .30 cal testing at longer ranges..... We will be doing it later this upcoming week. You really need to get on the list for some 220s and you won't be disappointed. FWIW, the 30/378 is what Alan Hall uses for his long range work. He has been shooting it for years.
