338 rum and 300gr smk

I have been looking and looking in the forum archives. I can not find any load info for this.

I would love some info for the 338 rum

300 grain smk
250 grain lapua sceenar

Help a guy out, If you dont have the load info could you point me in the right direction?

Hodgon says 96 to 102 of US 869 w300 SMK

My test

GRN Velocity
96 - 2574
97 - 2609
98 - 2647
99 - 2644 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
100 - 2688
101 - 2732

6 shots (2-3 shot groups)with the 101gr US 869; ES was 2. Groups were 338 bug holes @ 200. No case stretching, expansion etc. Just a nice hot load. I like her "bark" w/that 869.

That's the only load that that's PD accurate. Others were coyote accurate and just about everything was elk accurate out to 500 yds. But 225s and 250s didn't compare to the 300 SMKs for down range thumpness. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yup I got that one and the ones in the sierra book. Just wondering if you good old boys had any more.

Im thinking the high bc lapuas could be real sweat.

The lapuas are ok for targets but completely unsat for game. Per GG's expansion tests. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That sure is a lot of info.

So to use this info, Only use the loads that are not marked unsafe? And reduce 10% and work up?

Or is it safe to use any load listed as long as I reduce the loads and work them up?
