Yes. I use a 416wby not a 300. Big bears do NOT like to die easily as a rule. Use the largest cartridge you can shoot well. You may have to go into the bush after him remember. You want a stopper.

I agree with Brent I wouldn't use anything smaller than the .338 but it's my favorite caliber so mine would go with me.Do y'all want to get eaten by a bear?No?Leave the .270 at home and grab something with knock-down power.
