338 lapua needs scope

I have just purchased a remington 338 lapua and am in need of advice on a scope. my limit is roughly $1000 I currently have a IOR 4x14 that is doing nothing. my intentions are to use the rifle for up to 1400 yards informal shooting/ non competition. would this scope be ok/good for now. i would prefer a FFP. anyways any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I have one of the these leuopolds on a Armalite 50A1 and I like it.


On a side note I just bought a S&B 5-25 PMII and I must say it is awesome!
I was able to trade a leupold VX7L in on it so the price didn't bite as much but it is worth it. I am putting a nightforce 5.5-22 on my 338AM that Kirby is building rt now.

A lot of guys like the Sightron line. If I would have had $1000 to spend on my scope, I would have bought one of these:
