[QUOTE="Fiftydriver, post: 129104, member: 10"] Hired Gun, Should be around 30 lbs ready to shoot. The flutes are actually 7/16" flutes. I had Dan tool up for some very large flutes, they just look much better on these big barrels. A 1/4" flute just looks silly, as does a 5/16" flute unless you have 8 of them. The flutes are not black, they just look that way in the pics because they are so **** deep!!! Its -28 degrees here this morning with wind chill factor in the -40 degree range. I was hoping to get some range testing done today, not likely though. Maybe tommorow or Friday. I suspect there will not be to many rounds down this barrel before realizing its a shooter. If the first three rounds at 1/2 mile do not break 4" I will be amazed!! This rifle has a hybrid Barrel bedding V-Block design I designed specifically for the BAT 8.5" M receiver. The receiver is pillar bedded with three pillars and then the barrel is cradled by a 3" V-Block roughly 3" ahead of the receiver. This is by far the most stable bedding design I have played with so far. I can put must of my weight on that muzzle and it will not squat down into the barrel channel AT ALL!!
