Just got back from my eastern Oregon mulie hunt and the .338 AM kicks ***…. Spotted these two late Saturday night at 780 yards, with light conditions going south so we decided to come back in the morning and see if they would still be in the area. Got up the next morning and headed out to the spot were we last saw them, we located them in the same drainage but they were closer, but the angle went from 10 to 19 degrees ranged my buck at 503 yards made the correction got ready then he turn straight up hill and away from me with a little bit of a angle… took aim ever thing looked good so I touch off the big .338 and WOW it was like…. well if he was touched by the Grim Reaper the buck didn’t take a step just looked like it fell into the bank, the big 300 grain pill went in right behind the right front shoulder right were I was holding and out though the lower neck. My buddy and my dad was watching through the binos and spotting scope and they couldn’t believe the red mist that came out of him as the bullet passed through. I jacked out the big case moved out of the way and my buddy Jeff slid in behind the Grim Reaper to get on the second buck, took the range with the Swarovski on the buck that Jeff shot he moved about fifty yards more away after my buck was shot which put him at 540 yards made the correction. His buck is standing not quite broad side to us Jeff pulls the trigger and the 300 grain pill went in about 12 inches back of the left shoulder and out tight behind the right shoulder. The buck ran about 15yards fell over and rolled about 20 yards down the hill. Rock bluff in the middle is were we shot from. This is were we shot to about 1/3 the way up the mountain from the little tree in the bottom on the other side. Jeffs buck is on the left mine is on the right. If you look close you can see the blood spray in front of mine. My buck Jeffs buck
