I can't figure out why Shooter is calling for 18 MOA at 800 yards and takes only 16.25 MOA to get there. I have checked all the atmospherics and everythign is programmed in correctly. I have not had this problem at this same target/range with several other calibers. I find that my Chrono gives 100 fps different velocities depending how high over the sensors I shoot. So the 2750 FPS I'm getting may actually be 2850 but that seems high for a 338LM without any pressure signs. In any case, I think .8 is right, certainly not lower than that. I'm going to the 1000 yard range this week I'll report back after that with more information. The Nosler bullet measures 1.725" whereas the SMK is 1.70 inches so it is not an exact duplicate of the SMK and the From Factor is probably different accounting for the different BC with the same SD. The thing that sold me was the one hole groups with very small velocity standard deviation the first load I tried. Plus I kinda knew going in it was gonna be a winner because of the factory ammo I had shot in this gun. FYI - the factory ammo has 98.5 grains of something in it with a claimed velocity of 2650. I was getting faster than that like 2700. The Nosler website lists RE33 as the most accurate powder tested and the max load was 98 grains. I thus infer that they're loading the factory ammo with RE33. The powder was NOT Retumbo, it had fatter longer extruded granules with a darker dark charcoal gray color. Plus at $45/100, they're HALF the price of the SMK and the Bergers.
