I was looking in pawn shops for a 700 in .308 but found a deal on a 700 7MM RM.
Are there any con's to building a 308. on this action.
Also where is the best place to find a bolt (.473 face) for this action.
I asked this question on gun smith forum but got no answers so I thought I would
post it here.

Thanks

Using the long action for a build will allow you to use longer bullets seated further out and still utilize the magazine. Not aware of any feeding problems using the long action.

What kind of action is it?

EDIT Wow sorry about the stupid action question. I gotta stop posting when I'm tired!

Your existing bolt will work if you have it bushed and sako extractor installed.

Thanks for the info. guys. The sako looks interesting.
Is the bolt the only thing I have to change. (except for the barrel of corse)
I'm in no hurry I bought the whole rifle cheaper then I could find an action.
So I think I may try to burn this barrel out and see if I cant find a
.473 bolt face in long action. Between now and then.

Thanks
Ramp
