The 308 is a pretty effecient cartridge as is.. not really much to gain by going Ackley Improved. Not a good idea either in a MIA, the AI cartridges are a tad bit harder to feed due to steep shoulders and less body taper. Wouldn't lend itself to reliable functioning (feeding or extracting) in the M1A. Besides a M1 basically destroys itself, a "hotter" cartride would speed up the self destruction.
