Hey guys, quick question. I have a 300 WSM Remington 700 SPS that is factory, no aftermarket parts yet. It has a 1 in 10 twist and does not want to group any ammo I've put through it mainly being 150gr silvertips and 180gr accubonds. I was wondering if stepping up to 200-210 gr would help at all. I would like to try different rounds before changing the barrel or optics. At 100 the best group is around 2in on a lead sled and out to 300 yards to group stretch to around 8-9in. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would try some more different bullets. I don't know if it will shoot the 200-210's, but it may shoot the 165's or 168's or the 185's or the 190's. My Winchester Model 70 did not like the 150 Silvertips or a number of 180 bullets, but after trying some 165 Accubonds and 165 Partitions I found that not only did it shoot them well it would also shoot 155 Sierra Match and 168 Sierra Match. And finally I found that it loved 185 and 190 Bergers, so you have a lot of testing before jumping all the way to 200+ but they may also shoot. Reload and have fun finding what it likes.

Thanks for the help. The only reason I thought about the 200-210gr was it is Berger recommends a 1 in 11 twist while the 155gr is a 1 in 14 and the 185 I think is a 1 in 12 twist.
