Picked up a box to try in the 300WSM. Does anyone have any load data for the 180? I have the load data for the 165 but nothing for the 180.
Thx
Muddy

Here's Nosler load data. I've found it to be a useful starting point.

It's just 180 grain bullet, use 180 grain data from any reputable lead core bullet source. All my gamechanger data (260/130 & 270WSM/140) has tractor right along with pressures from other bullets of like weight.

I have found with the 300 WSM that a powder in the IMR 4350 burn rate is easiest to work with. Can't get enough H4831 powder in case and make O.A.C.L. length for the magazine.
In 1994, When I got a Kimber Montana in 300 WSM, Load data was very scarce. I got data from Hornady, Speer and IMR Powder. Hornady On internet, Listed 66.5 gr. Max. for IMR 4350.
A local shooter with a 300 WSM discussed a load for IMR 4350 powder in development.
I sat and looked at all the data and came up with a load by luck on the first try.

300 WSM 180 Gr. 1994-5
Case, New FL sized WW, Primer Win. LR Powder IMR 4350 65.0 (Sixty Five) Gr. Bullet SIERRA 180 Gr. Game King. O.A.C.L. 2.860. To run through rifle magazine.
Have changed primer to WW LRM, Since Win. changed to standard and magnum primers.
First 3 shot group was 5/8" at 100. Chronographs at around 2975 fps. 24" barrel.
Happy with performance for a 7 1/4 lb. 2.5X8 scoped rifle.

Not for the Sierra. But I get 0.4 moa with a 180 Scirocco II seated 0.060" jump, pushed 2917 fps with 62.5gr RL16 out of 2001 Win M70 Featherweight 300 WSM . Lit with WLRM. This is a midrange charge weight. I'm still working it.

Powder websites are great but always like to also have data from the bullet folks and I was impressed with the number of powder loads Sierra had tested for their 165GC and was hoping to see same but nothing so far. I have several go to powders for this weight bullet in the WSM but like everyone else looking for the Holy Grail load. I ended up using H4350 - duh guess this powder will work. ;) Tried RL16 and didn't get the velocities I hoped for and since I am limited with COAL some powders just won't work. Just picked up some more W760 which I bet will be fine as well. Funny I had hard time finding it locally. The 180GC out of my 300WM was crazy fast with RL26 though. Topped 3250 no pressure. Once hunting season shuts down back to range to see if the 181HH and the 196HH end up where I think they will be for the 300WM and the 166HH for the 300WSM.
