I've only had one problem with compressed loads in my experience. I loaded up some 6mm loads with RE-22 under a 87 grain V-Max. I don't remember the exact load but it was around 50 grains, I do know it was right at the bottom of the neck. I seated the bullets pretty deep so they'd fit in my magazine, which in turn compressed the lcharge. I had no issues with accuracy, velocity, or pressure; in fact the load worked very well. I loaded up 20 or so to use for a coyote hunt later on in the month. Well, a month later I went to put some in the magazine and they wouldn't fit... pulled out the calipers and they had "grown" .010"-.025" in OAL. I know it wasn't the seating die because I measured every single one when I loaded them up. The only thing I can conclude is the powder didn't like being compressed that much and pushed the bullets out. I guess crimping would prevent it, but I'd rather not go that rout. I still use lightly compressed loads quite often, but if I can feel the bullet compress the powder when I'm seatting it... I back it off a grain or two.
