300RUM DBM

Does anyone have experience with converting a 700BDL in 300RUM to a detachable box magazine? I purchased a used HS Precision DBM stock and cringe at spending another $220 for the magazine. Any input would be appreciated.

I believe a standard BDL floorplate will still fit in that stock.

I know converting a stock to accept the HS DM system has to do with internal modifications but nothing to keep the standard BDL floor plate and mag box from working still.

Kirby, the BDL floorplate and magazine fit without a problem. Do you know if the Remington DM assembly will fit as well? Out of Brownelle's it is half the price of the HS precision magazine.

The factory detachable mag box requires to big notches cut into the side of the stock....plus they are not very reliable.

The HS stock I purched has the cut outs you mentioned. Can you elaborate on the dependability comment?
