After shooting a .270 for many years, I have finally moved up to a bigger gun. I found an older black Sendero in 300 Win mag that had little use. Was just wondering what everybody's favorite long range load is for this caliber? I took it out this weekend and tested 208 Amax with 75 - 78.5 grains of H 1000 with no pressure signs at all. Velocity ran from 2830 to 2988 fps loaded to an OAL of 3.6". Was hoping to be a little faster, have heard from many that 77 grains of H 1000 will get you 3000 fps....o well hopefully more testing this weekend.

I run mine at 2945 fps with the 200AB and 73.2gr Re22 and 3000fps with the 200 SMK and 74.0gr Re22, no pressure signs. I've never tested higher than 74gr with either bullet, the AB loses the groups over 73.2gr and I'm fast enough at 3000 fps compared to other guys to think I can significantly push the SMK better. They run close to the same trajectory this way anyways.
