Working up a good hunting load with the 210 VLD Hunting bullet and suggestions in the 300 Win Mag

So far I have H1000 powder, WW and FC Nickle brass and WLRM and Fed215GM primers and 210gr Berger Hunting bullets.

My rifle is a Browning FN with 24" barrel and 1:10 Twist.

Well it's been awhile, I'm going to have to dig out an old book. I will get back to you as that was aver 6 years ago.

Thank you! Still playing with 185's as of now but the reloader 22 is working me to death as temps in the morning go from 60 very quickly to 75-80 and it seems to throw bullets around a bit. Will be going to the 210's soon!gun)

Two other good powders to try are IMR 7828 SSC and 7977.

I have gotten very good accuracy with 75gr of H1000, Fed215M, Norma brass, 210
VLD Hunting .020" off lands. 2825FPS, ES 12 out of my 24" Rem R5. I also use 79gr Retumbo which gets me to 2900FPS with the same accuracy and ES.

I'm thinking when these 185's are shot up I going to switch to the 210's. Shot a cloverleaf 3-shot group at 100 today with the 185 vlds at 3.893 but 3.895 group was huge! I enjoy shooting and working up loads but am beginning to get tired of the changes for temp sensitive r22!! I've read that the 210's will actually produce less meat damage than the 185's. Has anyone else seen or heard the same or had personally experience?

I've had temp sensitivity with RL22 and H1000 (which they claim to not be temp sensitive). I've also had bad lot-to-lot consistency with H1000. I've got 4-5 lbs. of it sitting around, but am considering doing a large mixed lot. Dump all of it in a bucket and mix it all around, that way you get consistency throughout all my jugs of it.

Perhaps too much so. I have had a half a dozen instances with 210 VLD Hunting bullets where I have experienced little to no expansion on medium sized game at ranges between 200 and 700 yards. This was evidenced by bullet sized entry and exit wounds.
