Could some of you .300Rum fans share your favorite loads please? I'm going to be using my Remington sendero mostly for whitetail. Interested in any of your most accurate loads.

150g CTBTIP, 105g H-1000, Fed 215
180g CTBTIP, 98g H-1000, Fed 215
200g SMK, 92g H-1000, Fed 215
200g NAB, 88g H-1000, CCI BR-2
210g VLD, 89g Retumbo, Fed 215
220g SMK, 88g H-1000, Fed 215

These loads have printed under .5 at 100 and stayed under or around .5 to .75 MOA out to 800 and 1150 yards. My rifle is a factory Rem 700 LSS.

91.6gr H1000 200gr Nos. Accubonds Fed 215
80.4gr IMR 4350 180gr Nos BT

Both shoot sub 1/2 MOA with factory Win Barrel

Boone,

I always used 100.0 gr H-1000 under a 180 gr Ballistic Silvertip in my 300 RUM. This by the way is a very top end load and I would recommend starting 10% under this and working up.

Since then Retumbo was released as well as the accubond bullet so now I like 100.0 gr Retumbo under the 180 gr Accubond. The 200 gr Accubond also works very well but certainly not needed for deer. I use Rem cases and Fed 215 primers in all my loads as well. Always start low and work up though!!

I like at least 180 gr bullets in the 300 RUM. Just runs better with a bit of bullet weight compared to the lighter 150 and 165 gr pills.

Good Shooting!!

85 gr Retumbo under a 240 SMK. Shoots .25" out of my rifle @ 100 yds. Might want to use the 220 SMK w/a little more powder instead of the 240. I don't think you'll notice much difference in the performance of the two. I've had some difficulty getting ahold of the 240s.

What were your velocities? Thanx

The 150's were clocking 3650fps. The 180's were clocking 3380fps. The 200g SMK's were 3200fps, the 200g AB's were 3100fps, 210g VLD's are at 3000fps, and the 220g SMK's were at 3025fps. All these were shot over cronograph.

220g SMK 91g Retumbo 3150fps 30' barrel
210 VLD 93g Retumbo 3255fps 30' barrel
The VLD is deadly at close range, and the SMK outshines it at 1,000 yds or more. Here is the VLD at 303 yds.

Here is the SMK at 1035 yds. Target is 10' wide.

The 6 good hits were the SMK. The rest were the VLD load.

Nice bikes, what are they? WRF's or YZF's. 250 or 450's? I know what you use them for. To zip on out to the 1000 yard target. Nice rifles, and nice groups by the way. I have an 04' CR125. I should use that to run out there "real quick" like.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Man youve got some goodies there, wish I could shoot that good, good shooting.
