I believe I need to open the lips so the bullet sits "higher". Anybody have an opinions? Accurate mag cip length, cartridge at mag length, xlr chassis and defiance anti action.

I had a similar issue with my .30 LARA a few years ago, and my gunsmith used a home-built tool similar to the one in the videos below.

Good luck!

There is nothing unusual about tuning the feed lips on a DBM. They don't always come perfect from the factory so using a simple tool to adjust the width is common.

Enjoy!

Anybody have a DIY tool that they've used? I have a small bench vise that might work. Pliers would work, but it would be hard to get the entire length of the lip even.

The tools are fairly inexpensive

$15 for the MPA (https://masterpiecearms.com/shop/mpa-mag-feed-lip-adjustment-tool/), but they're currently out.

$22 for AI (https://rcrouserifles.com/product/accuracy-international-magazine-feed-lip-tool/)

$30 for HSP (https://shop.hsprecision.com/product/adjustment-tool/)
