I was going to say 7mm Rem Mag when I saw the title because if you're a handloader, you can load it down to 280 power easily or out pace the 280 AI be a significant margin - and if you're NOT a handloader, then still the 7mm Mag because ammo is quite common vs non-existent with the 280 AI except through handloading or mail order. HOWERVER, when I read it was for a raffle, you will DEFINITELY want the 280 AI. The "cool" factor you mention is what you want to attract interest and sell more chances. Some people will shy away from the recoil they are afraid of that will be generated by the 7 Mag. I've heard this conversation time and again over the years. I think the 280 AI will be the best option for a raffle to raise interest in the benefit. I am personally still intrigued by custom models in the AI from makers like Cooper, even though I would choose to build a 7 Mag, the 280 AI has the "instant gratification impulse" factor, and I'm more likely to impulse buy a 280 AI vs a 7 Mag if I see the right presentation. Something about it being more "rare" makes it more desirable. And it can be used by teens and ladies more readily than the "Big 7." Just my $0.02...
