What is a 280 ackley improve. Is it a good long range round upto 1k? Is it worth it ?

Blown out 280 remington with the ackley imp shoulder. Excellent cartridge and you can duplicate any shot the 7mm remington will make. I love the blown out 280 case in 7mm and have the JRS and gibbs also. They are not as hard on barrels as the 7mm rem mag but do the same thing in a more compact version. I have one 7mm rem mag that never gets shot. Five 7mm STW's, a 7mm-300 wby, and the blown out 280 case stuff get much more use.

280AI is an awesome cartridge. My first custom rifle was/is a 280Rem. In hind sight I wish I'd gone with the 280AI or 7wsm. Both will give 7rem mag performance.
