270 win vs 280 ai

I am having really good luck VV N560 in my 270 tried H4831sc and 7828ssc. Your AI seems to like the same powders as the 270win.

Good luck and shoot straight

Bob

I missed the question on the whole 270 v 270 ai v 280 ai. For the range or hunting, even long range hunting? If hunting, putting a 30" pipe on a stock is a little nutty, especially on a mountain hunt (read - sheep country). Stick with the 270 in case your ammo is lost, EVERYONE will have more in stock, and buy some H100V powder to push 140 BTs at 3,000 FPS on a 23" tube. Go heavier to 150 with Magpro at 2900 - and if worried about lack of "flatness" get a good scope and dial knob and a rangefinder. It works.

I guess I'm one of those nutty guys as my .270 AI has a 30" barrel pushing the 175 Matrix pass 3000 FPS on the Montana mountains :D:cool::)gun)...

Im with Feenix, i have a 25" #4 in 270ai and push the 150s at 3200. If you just want to dial and smile the use a 308, we want some ft lbs of energy delivered past normal ranges

Might need to work on seating depth again. Or maybe this is as good as it's going to get.
