Looking to load up some coyote loads for my 270. Saving pelts is a consideration, but it might be difficult with this caliber. Please give bullet choices. Do you go fast and light and try to have no exit, or just punch through with a tougher round?

Shot one last year with 130 gr soft point in the guts and it was a real mess!

You might try the Berger VLD Target bullets if they make them in a .277" bullet. With the thick jackets and tiny hollow point they should shoot like a solid in something as small and lightweight as a coyote.

I've used the 140 Hornady BTSP with pleasing results. DRT yote and small exit hole. By small I mean quarter size.

The extinct Lost River J36 was great also.
