If you mean the barrel, I don't know. I was hoping someone would have info. I am not sure I understand. I have never heard of a 90 degree shoulder. Ackley liked 80 degrees. As far as working up same case capacity with different neck and or shoulder angle, it violates my 'design' philosophy for this project. To use the 26 Nosler dimensions except caliber. Perhaps some other time and some other thread. If you don't have it I really recommend getting QuickDesign and QuickLoad. Tons of fun. Not always perfect, sometimes PERFECT. It can't get my R700 300 RUM right in QL. I'm way faster than predicted. My 6mm-AR predictions were perfect over a range of 10 charge weights with Alliant AR-Comp. I'm serious, it was 100% correct. I mean 100% chronograph reading to prediction. I did not install a "Pressure Trace" pickup on that barrel so I won't know pressures. The close to actual vs. prediction for QL is of course depending on the input as in Garbage In, Garbage Out. I'm and IT guy with more experience than would be practical to list here so I am aware and capable of getting the inputs correct. I've had closer to actual predictions more than not. Usually no more than a percent or 2 off.I have to say that I disagree with the shoulder shape and angle impacting velocity and accuracy potential of a case design. Not the only factor but IMO, much more than nothing. Somehow you threw in 'performance' with the implication that it was the goal and could be achieved the same way Wby does it, with massive free bore. If that was the goal, I'd just do the American thing, more cubic inches and that would just mean going back to the RUM design in different calibers. Hmmm a 17/300 RUM. That would be perfect..... A definitive study of shoulder angle and shape would be a fun undertaking but one man only has just so much time and must choose those activities that provide fulfillment. I had already been working on my "Winchester Pretty Short Magnum" when the 26 Nosler was announced. A minor gear change.
