Quarter-Bore fans,
Just ordered the 110gr Accubond from Midway. $15.95 per 50. Hopefully I'll get to try them before deer season here ends. Johnny K.

good deal ive been waiting going to order now it will bee hard to beat the tsx load load you hooked me up with thanks again marlow

Marlow,
No prob with the TSX load. As soon as the Accubonds get here I intend to start load development for 'em. Will pass info on. We only have about 28 more days of deer season left but hopefully I will be able to see how they perform.
I loaded 140gr'ers for a buddies 7Mag Sendero and he's been hammering the deer this year. He's called me at least once a week and sends the same text message, "One shot, One kill". Johnny K.

Was out yesterday testing my 257 STW with the Accubonds. Best group at 100 was .570, first four went into .280", but in my typical fashion, sent the fifth one flyin /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Velocity was 3490.

257speed,

Is that 3500 fps level tops in your STW? Seems a bit low but I have not tested the Accubond yet. I have some on the loading bench to test in my 257 Allen Mag and was hoping to run 3925 to 3975 fps in the 30" Extreme Sporter.

Just curious as to the pressures your running and if this is a mild load?

Kirby Allen(50)

Kirby, this is not a top load, but it is the best accuracy at an acceptable velocity. I ran them as fast as 3600, but accuracy started to slip. This is out of a 26" tube (Shilen Match). I think in this, you would see a big advantage with the 4" of barrel since it is so overbore.

cbaker,
I have more or less given up on the (non)AccuBond in my .25-06 Sendero. I tried IMR4350/w CCI BR2's. Started at 48.0gr and increased up to 49.5gr in .5 gr increments. Velocity average (3-shots) was 3009/3021/3029/3115fps. Accuracy was .4345/.4870/.6555/.7490".
Then I tried IMR4831/w BR2's. 51.0-52.5gr, velocity was 3143/3136/3175/3214fps and accuracy ran 1.041/.7205/.8595/1.327".
Next was RL22/w R9.5M. Loads were 53.0-54.5gr. Velocity averaged 3181/3218/3242/3271fps. Accuracy ran .8435/.7570/1.1365/.6690".
Three days later I tried 54.5 & 55.0grs and believe it or not velocity average and accuracy for the 54.5gr load was almost identical. Velocity was 3271fps (exact same as before) and accuracy was .6965"! Only .004" over the previous group. Velocity and accuracy for the 55.0gr load was 3302fps and 1.0705". This is about where I wanted the velocity to be (3300fps) but I was hoping for better accuracy.
I may try them again someday, but for now will stick with the Barnes TSX's. They are one-holers in this rifle at 3300+fps. Good luck. Johnny K.
