I have been a 25-06 man for a Looooooooog time. Here is what I have found to work in most 25-06 rifles. Work up to these loads. This is the load that I use in my current rifle for white tail deer. With 117 Sierra Pro hunter. 49 grs IMR 4350, Remington case, CCI 250 mag primer, from my 26" Shilen barrel it does 3000 fps. This load shoots great in most 25-06s and is the one that I would try first. With 117 Sierra Pro hunter. 52 grs H-4831, Remington case, CCI BR-2 primer. It does not get much much better as WT deer killing loads than these. BANG FLOP. For 100 gr Sierra Game Kings 52 grs IMR 4350 has always shot well. This is my varmint load for ground hogs/wood chucks. For 87 gr Sierra 52.2 grs IMR 4350, Remington case, CCI 250 mag primer, this does 3400 fps from my 26" barrel. This load will scatter pieces and red mist most varmints it hits. I have found that most Sierra bullets shoot pretty well about 20 thousands off the lands. I think you will fall in love with your 25-06 once you start shooting game with it. I have killed hundreds of WT deer with this caliber. I used to do crop damage control on a big farm in North Carolina USA. I shot deer with most calibers between 22 lr up to 45-70 and the 25-06 is the pic of the litter. 99% of the time a deer drops in it's tracks. Good luck and good shooting.
