Elkaholic, I personally find NOTHING offensive in your statement. Too bad someone who needs to get a life objected to the word "NUTS". I say this because that is the only word I saw that was used to describe the claims made by the person you were referring to. Now, as far the 25-06 goes, I spent some time and effor developing a couple of loads for my 25-06 Ackley Improved. Using Barnes 100 Gr. XLC - Blue Coated bullets, the fastest load that did not exceed safe pressure levels and yielde good precision was with over 60 grains of RL-19 with the bullets seated 0.040" from the rifling. Top velocity, measure with my Chrony Beta Chronograph was 3540 fps. and groups averaged 1.5 inches at 200 meters. I am currently developing another load for moly-coated Nosler 110 gr. Accubonds, with H4831 Xtreme, since it is somewhat slower than RL-19. So far, a load of around 59.0 grs. has yielded decent groups (2 inches) at 200M. Velocity is at 3400 fps. Next step is to test various seating depths, after deer season. I could accept someone developing a load pushing 3750 fps. out of a 25-05 AI, using the lightest bullets available, but any 6000 fps claims out of an ordinary 25-06 are pure B. S. PS. Excuse me! After re-reading the original post, the originator used the s..t word in the text. Minor offense, in my book, but yes, let's keep it clean. Regards,
