I have been shooting the 25-06 for around 30 years and two loads that have stood out as accurate in most rifles with the 117 gr Sierra Pro Hunter flat base bullet which in my experience is more accurate than the Game King boat tail bullet are these. 52 grs H4831 or the SC version fired with a CCI BR2 primer in a Rem or WW case. 49 grs IMR or AA 4350 fired by a CCI 250 Mag Primer in a Rem or WW case. Both loads will run ball park 3000 fps depending on the rifle. Load the bullet 10 to 20 thousands off the lands. I have killed a few hundred deer with this bullet over the years and see no need to change to another bullet. My current rifle is a Rem 700 with a #6 Shilen SS 26" barrel and on a calm day it will shoot the 49 gr IMR or AA 4350 load into a 5 shot group at 300 yards average 1 1/2". Over the years about 95 % of the time it has been BANG FLOP on deer.
