I guess what I'm wondering, is if there is something inherent about the 25-06 design, that requires a long jump to the lands for accuracy - or pressure control? I have noticed a lot of guys (myself included) report best performance, w/ a COL that leaves them w/ a jump of 0.050" - 0.150". I first noticed this when trying to work up a load for a Ruger No.1-B. Just could not get anything to work seated within a "normal" distance from the lands, & then realized that the factory WW Supreme 25-06 (Nosler 117CT) that shot so well, had a COL of 3.185". Been my starting point ever since - w/ Noslers in the 100 to 120 grain range. Gary
