I recently loaded some of the 230 Targets up and out of 27" here was my results: 87.5 gr. H1000, NC brass,Fed215GM,COAL 3.837" just touching rifling= 2980fps, ES13, SD 7. 88.0 gr. Retumbo, NC brass,Fed215GM,COAL 3.837" just touching rifling=2940fps, high ES. I needed to run these at around 2950 to be a real advantage over my 210VLD load but unfortunately the pressures were a little high and could not acheive the accuracy I require with these loads or even slower loads, this may have something to do with barrel twist as well but not sure. They were hot in my rifle but not in any danger zones. Also, the H1000 yielded more velocity at roughly the same pressures. Carefully work up starting several grains lower than what I have listed. You might take a serious look at the 215 targets, that's what I'm working up right now and pleasantly surprised to be getting around 3150fps at the same pressure levels that I have running the 210VLD at 3120fps. Very initial accuracy tests show that I probably wont have much trouble getting these under .5MOA either. Run the ballistics between the 215 at 3150fps and the 230 Target at 2980fps and the 215 wins in the velocity and energy category even at 1200 yards.
