O1, Here some load info; 1. 51grns of H4350-Work your way up to 53grns. 2. Federal 210 Primer 3. Lapua Brass You could also try the following powders; 1. VV-N165 2. IMR 4831 3. H4831 Begining load with the above mentioned powders will be 51grns and work up to 53grns. The 284 case is capable of pushing a 75grn bullet at over 4000+fps. I don't think the 75grn A-Max can be pushed that fast. I only think the 75grn A-Max can handle up to 3200fps, any faster than that, and I think it will come apart. I might be wrong, however, I know A-Max bullets are not designed for high velocity shooting. They work best at around 3000fps. I know Hornady makes a .22cal 60grn V-Max and Nosler makes a 60grn Ballistic Tip. The 22-284, with a 30" barrel will push those bullets at 4300 to 4400fps. Sierra makes .22 cal 69grn, 77grn, 80grn and 90grn MatchKings. The MK's will handle the high velocities of the 22-284. Anyhow, I hope this helps. Have fun with your rifle, I bet that baby is going to provide you with some awesome RED MIST shots. I look forward to hearing about your build in the future. W.
